'Desperate Housewives' Star, 51, Stuns Cannes Red Carpet in Diamond-Encrusted Bridal White Gown
Eva Longoria brought bridal white to a French thriller premiere.
The Desperate Housewives star, 51, walked the Cannes Film Festival red carpet Friday, May 22, for the premiere of Histoires de la Nuit (The Birthday Party), the home-invasion drama closing the 79th festival's Official Competition. She wore a custom Tamara Ralph couture gown in white silk double satin with a mother-of-pearl and crystal fan bodice, paired with René Caovilla's 150-millimeter Anastasia satin sandals.
The L'Oréal Anchor
Longoria attended as a L'Oréal Paris ambassador, a role she has held since 2005. L'Oréal Paris is the longtime official beauty partner of the Cannes Film Festival, and the role has made the actress and director a fixture on the Croisette across two decades of festivals. Longoria directed the 2023 biopic Flamin' Hot and is directing the upcoming Netflix comedy The Fifth Wheel, starring Kim Kardashian and Nikki Glaser. Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson joined the cast earlier this year.
Who Else Walked the Carpet
The premiere drew a heavyweight European ensemble. Monica Bellucci, who plays an Italian painter named Cristina in the film, walked the carpet alongside Gillian Anderson and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Ariana Greenblatt and Tara Reid were also among the attendees.
What the Film Is About
Histoires de la Nuit, adapted from Laurent Mauvignier's 2020 novel of the same title, follows a family in rural Limousin, France, whose surprise birthday party for matriarch Nora descends into a violent home invasion. Director Léa Mysius cast Hafsia Herzi and Bastien Bouillon as the parents, with Benoît Magimel among the intruders. The film is one of 22 in the Official Competition at the 79th Festival de Cannes. Park Chan-wook's jury, which includes Demi Moore, Chloé Zhao and Stellan Skarsgård, announces the Palme d'Or on Saturday, May 23.
