'90s Music Icon, 58, Reveals Parkinson's Disease Diagnosis

Tom Dumont, 58, is doing really well. The No Doubt guitarist, known for his famous guitar riff on the band's 1995 breakup anthem "Don't Speak," shared a heartfelt social media message Saturday, expressing gratitude for the life he's had while giving a health update ahead of the band's May 2026 Las Vegas residency at the Sphere.

In a social media video posted Saturday, April 11, 2026, a healthy-looking Dumont shared a straight-to-camera message expressing gratitude for the life he's led while also sharing news about his health, stating:

"A number of years ago I was experiencing a number of symptoms. I went to my doctor, I went to a neurologist and I did a whole bunch of tests and I was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's disease. It's been a struggle. It's a struggle every day, and I'll make another video with what Parkinson's entails. The good news is I can still play music, I can still play guitar. I've been doing really well."

'90s music's elite quickly rushed to the comment section to express support for the No Doubt legend, who hopes to raise continued awareness surrounding the disease.

No Doubt drummer Adrian Young offered, "My friend, bandmate, and hero……I love you brother."

Tony Kanal, No Doubt's bassist, added, "Love you beyond words my friend. Can't wait to get on stage with you again."

'90s icons Garbage shared, "Sending you so much love Tom. You are such a special soul. What a man."

Tom Dumont's Role in No Doubt

Best known as the longtime guitarist for No Doubt, Tom Dumont helped shape the band's signature blend of ska, punk, pop, and alternative rock. Dumont joined the band in the late 1980s, replacing original guitarist Jerry McMahon. He quickly established himself as a core creative force behind the band's breakthrough sound, particularly during their meteoric rise to global fame in the 1990s.

Dumont's guitar work played a major role in defining No Doubt's sound. Thirty years after the release of Tragic Kingdom, No Doubt is scheduled for a Las Vegas residency at the Sphere. So popular, the band has extended its scheduled dates into June, performing a total of 18 shows.
