TAVARES, Fla. — On Friday, Arroyo Grande's Jared Lintner assured that the start of his sixth season on the Bassmaster Elite tour will be a profitable one.
Although his day two limit here at the Harris Chain of Lakes was lighter than Thursday, he made the first cut in 29th place.
He’s assured of a $10,000 check and punched his ticket to fish on day three Saturday. He’s a longshot to make the second cut to 12 anglers for Sunday’s championship run.
Lintner has a combined weight of 23 pounds, 10 ounces. He trails Shaw Grigsby, the tournament leader at the midway point, by 20 pounds, 5 ounces.
Grigsby had the heaviest limit of the tournament, 29-8. His total weight of 43-15 puts him 8 pounds, 3 ounces in front of four-time Bassmaster Classic champion Kevin VanDam.
Lintner followed his opening 12-8 limit with an 11-2 bag on Friday.
