Gene Gray of Atascadero was a consistent pro angler at Clear Lake, bringing 15.72-pound limits to the scales both Saturday and Sunday. There was a problem, however — he remained in 61st place in the Angler’s Choice Pro-Am bass tournament.
Chris Franks supplanted Mike Tuck atop the standings with a 22.03 limit on Sunday. He leap-frogged Tuck coming from second place to win the competition by 0.11 of a pound to earn $10,254.
Only 18 pros in the 90-angler field earned checks.
The final event in the four-tournament series will be at The California Delta on Sept. 11-12.
