Mission Prep shuts out Fillmore on the road

The Mission Prep football team defeated Fillmore 42-0 in Fillmore on Friday night.

Mission Prep quarterback Bryce Fledderman completed 14 of 19 passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns in the Royals final non-league game.

Mission Prep opened the first quarter with three touchdowns and was able to hold Fillmore to no first downs in the first half to seize control of the game. It was a Fillmore team that had only scored three touchdowns all season.

Mission Prep running back Brayden Corona rushed for his ninth touchdown of the season and finished the game with 49 yards on 14 carries. Patrick Miller led the Royals with six catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns.

The Royals, who have struggled with penalties this season, had just one on Friday night for five yards.

Mission Prep's (5-2, 1-0 Northern) next game will be one of the biggest of the season. The team will travel to Nipomo with the winner of the game a virtual lock to win the Northern League outright.
