Nipomo High football team improves to 2-0 in Northern League

The Nipomo High football team blasted Santa Maria 37-3 on Friday night in Nipomo.

Antonio Navarro had 141 yards rushing on 18 attemps and scored twice for the Titans (4-4, 2-0 Northern League). JJ Ramirez added 63 yards on the ground and two more rushing touchdowns.

“We played with a short field most of the night. Our defense played great. Our kick returns were great,” said John Villa, head special teams coach. “The stats don’t really tell the whole story. We controlled the game.”

Gavin Hall completed 6 of 10 passes for 61 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Diaz in the second quarter.

The Titans host Mission Prep (2-0 Northern) in a key Northern League clash next week.
