Prep girls volleyball roundup: Templeton defeats Santa Ynez for 8th straight league win

The Templeton High girls volleyball team defeated Santa Ynez on Tuesday night to capture its eighth-straight Los Padres League win. 

Lauren Ralston had 12 kills for Templeton in the 25-23, 25-22, 25-15 victory. 

Emily Burns and Katie Bolts added nine kills and seven kills, respectively. Hannah McRoy led the team with 28 assists. 

Templeton (18-7, 8-0 LPL) travels to take on Lompoc on Thursday.

San Luis Obispo 3, Righetti 1

The Tigers were led by Holland Boege, who had 20 kills, 12 digs and three aces in a 23-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-11 victory. Morgan Day contributed 12 kills and nine digs and Merissa Brancart racked up 24 assists, and Molly Eppright added 11 digs and four aces.

The Tigers improve to 16-9 overall and 7-1 in PAC 8 play and face Paso Robles on Thursday.

Arroyo Grande 3, Mission Prep 1

Emily Sonny had 14 kills and five blocks to lead the Eagles 25-23, 20-25, 25-20. 25-16 over the Royals. Ashlyn Herlihy added 14 kills and three blocks and Sam Oliver registered seven kills and a block in the win.

Macie Latchman notched 30 assists and two aces for the Eagles (14-1, 8-0 PAC 8), who host Righetti on Thursday.

Bella Casola had 12 digs and two aces and Jennifer Laird chipped in with 12 kills and 10 digs for the Royals. Noelle Laird added 10 kills for Mission Prep (17-5).

Atascadero 3, Paso Robles 2

Jessie Featherstone had 12 kills, 2 blocks and 37 digs to lead the Greyhounds to a 25-15, 25-17, 21-25, 22-25, 15-12 victory.

Kaylie Griffin had 12 kills and four blocks, and Macie Pires contributed 10 kills and eight digs for Atascadero.

Brooke Harbottle also added 35 assists, 17 digs and five aces in the victory.

The Greyhounds improved their record to 12-12 overall, and are 3-5 in PAC 8 play. The team will host St. Joseph next Monday.

Paso Robles coach D.J. Bigelow said his team struggled to find a rhythm early and fell just short in the final set of the loss. 

Teegan Curren and Kiara Gable led the Bearcats with 11 kills each. Gable also had three blocks and 10 digs. Riley Austin added 20 digs. The loss moved the Bearcats to 4-4 in PAC 8 play. 

Coastal Christian 3, Shandon 1

Delaney Springer led the Conquerors with 11 kills, and Kristin Compton had eight aces in the 25-19, 23-25, 25-22, 25-8 win. 

Camy DiCarlo also added 17 assists, and Reanna Iunker led Coastal Christian with 22 digs. 

Coastal Christian (4-4, 3-3 Coast Valley League) plays its next game at home against Coast Union on Tuesday. 

Coast Union 3, Valley Christian 0

Janelle Bohey had eight kills and Xue DiMaggio recorded seven more in the Bronco’s 25-17, 25-11, 25-19 victory. Regan Kniffen chipped in with six kills and Ahziri Mora had 18 assists for Coast Union (9-3, 6-0 Coast Valley League), who take on Cuyama Valley on the road Thursday.
