Prep Roundup: Arroyo Grande tops Templeton in boys tennis

The Arroyo Grande High boys tennis team won eight of nine doubles sets, helping it defeat Templeton 70-66 in games after both teams won nine sets at Arroyo Grande on Wednesday.

The doubles teams of Patrick Angle and Parker Turner, and Sam Silva and Joe Watson both swept their sets for Arroyo Grande (6-2), which faces league rival San Luis Obispo today.

Jarred Hall and Chaz Darrow both won all three of their singles sets for Templeton (3-4).

Titans top Tigers in pitching duel

Gennae Abatti’s fourth-inning RBI single was all the run support Nipomo needed in a 1-0 softball win over San Luis Obispo.

Hope Goodall and Bri Sa combined for the shutout in the circle for the Titans (2-4), with Goodall striking out five in four innings and Sa getting one strikeout in three innings.

Sa and Abatti were both 2 for 3, with Abatti following Saundra Renner’s leadoff triple with the run-scoring single in the fourth.

Sam Good pitched a complete game for the Tigers (4-3), striking out eight.

Paso Robles wins boys golf dual

Greg Potruch shot a match-best 80 to lead the Bearcats past Cabrillo, 417-444, at Village Country Club.

Bailey Flickinger added an 81 for Paso Robles.

Tigers seeking girls soccer coach

The San Luis Obispo athletic department is accepting applications for its open varsity girls soccer coaching position.
