Prep Roundup: San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles split track meets

The San Luis Obispo High boys track team beat Paso Robles 105-31, but lost in the girls portion 72-60 on Wednesday.

Pricier Hitchcock won the 400 meters (52.4 seconds) and ran on the first place 4x100 and 4x400 relays for the Tigers.

San Luis Obispo’s Ray Smith was first in the 800 (1:59.9) and David Chellsen won the shot put (43 feet, 9 inches). Andrew Toh placed first in the 100 (11.6) and Nate Greenelsh won the 200 (22.2) for the Tigers.

Kristen Thompson won the girls discus (116-9) and the shot put (33-9) for Paso Robles. Kelly McGuire won the girls 100 (13.0) and Cece Devaney won the high jump (4-10) for San Luis Obispo.

Eagles sweep track dual from ’Hounds

The Arroyo Grande High track and field teams swept Atascadero, winning 88-34 on the boys side and 91-48 in the girls meet.

Josephine Graeber won the girls triple jump for Arroyo Grande (34-5) and Isaiah Hughes won both that boys long jump (19-81⁄4) and the high jump (5-5). Matt Sill won the boys 110 hurdles for the Eagles (16.53).

Atascadero’s Angelica Cusworth won the girls 300 hurdles with a time of 46.34 seconds, and Ethan Hicks won the boys shot put with a throw of 46-3. Daniel Tull won the boys 800 for the Greyhounds in 2:01.73.

Baxtresser leads Royals girls track

Paige Baxtresser won three events to lead Mission Prep’s track team gainst Pioneer Valley. Team scores were unavailable.

Baxtresser won the 100 (12.9), the 200 (27.0) and was part of the winning 4x100 relay team (51.9).

For the boys, Shereef Wahba placed second in the discus (126-0) and Pat Miller was second in the shot put (41-10).

PAC 8 swimming teams split in pool

The Paso Robles boys swim team beat Atascadero 106-64 and the Atascadero girls won 87-83 in a PAC 8 dual.

For the Paso Robles boys, Kohl Coffey won the 200-meter freestyle (1:57.28) and the 100 freestyle (52.64), and Josh Dewhurst swam a CIF-consideration times in the 100 butterfly (54.77) and in the 100 backstroke (56.81).

For the girls, Kasey Moffitt won the 200-freestyle (2:05.04) and the 400-free relay (4:05.47) for the Bearcats. Moffitt was joined on the relay by Lauren Reed, Kelsey Lewis and Veronica Ayala.
