Prep Football Roundup: Paso Robles, Nipomo win games in road routs

The Paso Robles High football team earned its eighth straight victory in a 63-14 road rout of San Luis Obispo on Friday night.

The Bearcats (8-0, 2-0 PAC 5) scored early and often, prompting a running clock in the second half.

Justin Davis was 7 for 10 passing and threw for 131 yards and three touchdowns. Christian Erickson had 15 rushes for 184 yards and also had three touchdowns.

The Tigers (2-6, 0-2 PAC 5) scored their first touchdown on an Omeed Djassemi pass to Dante Cappellano. Bailey Gaither of the Bearcats promptly answered, returning the ensuing kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown.

Djassemi finished with eight rushes for 37 yards, and was 7 for 12 with 173 yards passing and two touchdowns.

He also had three interceptions.

San Luis Obispo’s second and final touchdown came in in the third quarter when Capellano took a Djassemi pass 80 yards for a score.

Capellano finished the game with three catches for 153 yards and the two touchdowns.

Nipomo 52, Santa Maria 15

Chris Owens had three rushing touchdowns and caught one of Matt Albright’s three touchdown passes as the Titans scored 39 first-half points.

Nick Kimball accounted for 16 points with a 50-yard touchdown reception, four extra points, and three field goals for Nipomo (5-3, 2-0 Los Padres League).

The Titans also had contributions from Clem Ramiscall on a 56-yard interception returned for a touchdown and a 7-yard touchdown reception by Harrison Labastida.

Owens had 90 yards rushing and 53 yards receiving, while Albright had 265 yards passing.
