PREP ROUNDUP: Arroyo Grande tops Pioneer Valley in boys water polo

Josh Jewell scored three goals, and five goalkeepers combined to make seven saves as the Arroyo Grande High boys water polo team defeated Pioneer Valley, 13-5, in Santa Maria on Monday.

Conner Sandman and Chase Taylor both scored a pair of goals for the Eagles (4-5, 2-1 PAC 8).

Sandman, Ronan Paulson, Jared Swenson, Hunter Roberts and Ryan Sverchek each played in goal and recorded at least one save.

Nipomo beats Lompoc in girls golf

Cynthia Navis shot a match-best 8-over 42 to lead Nipomo to a 257-313 victory over Lompoc at the front nine of La Purisma.

Erin Shusterich followed with a 44 for the Titans, and Paige Johnson shot a 53.

Morro Bay golf falls to Pioneer Valley

Taffy Ketchum shot a match-best 57, but it was not enough as the Pirates (1-3) fell to the Panthers 312-319 at the par 36 Oaks nine at Blacklake Golf Resort in Nipomo.

Shandon in search of varsity coaches

The Shandon athletic department is accepting applications for the following varsity coaching positions: softball, football, girls basketball and baseball. It is also seeking a junior varsity boys basketball coach.
