The San Luis Obispo High boys tennis team doubles team of Mason Hansen and Josh Milla advanced to the top 20 in the CIF-Southern Section individual sectional championships in Carpentaria on Thursday.
The duo beat Dos Pueblos’ Miles Baldwin and Patrick Curpuz 6-3, 3-6, 12-10 in the third round.
Hansen and Milla trailed 9-8 and 10-9 in the super tiebreaker — first to 10 and win by two — but was able to win three straight points to win the match.
Hansen and Milla had a first-round bye and beat Zachary Denham and Nick Gazzera (6-1, 6-1) of Oaks Christian in the second round. The pairing lost in the first round of the top 20 last year and finds out Tuesday if it plays on Thursday or Friday next week.
