Prep Roundup: Templeton tops Nipomo in boys, girls LPL soccer

Austin Alarcon scored three goals, including one of Templeton High’s two overtime tallies, to lead the Eagles' boys soccer team to a 4-2 win over Nipomo on Thursday.

Clayton MacKay put Templeton (7-8-2, 4-3-2 Los Padres League) ahead early in the first overtime period on an assist from Alarcon. Alarcon’s third goal came soon after on a free kick.

Mauricio Uvias scored both goals for Nipomo (6-16,1-8 LPL), including a game-tying tally with less than two minutes remaining in regulation. 

Mike Arevalo assisted both goals.

Matt Mosher had an assist for Templeton, which got seven saves from Yusuke Yokota.

Santa Ynez 5, Morro Bay 0

Santa Ynez scored two goals in the first half and three in the second. Morro Bay’s  (4-15, 2-7 LBL) Oscar Loeza had 15 saves.


Templeton 3, Nipomo 1 

Rachel Foley netted two goals for the Eagles. 

Courtney Elterman had two assists for Templeton (8-12, 5-4 LPL), including one to Foley and one on Miriam Robles’ goal. 

Sammy Schmidt tallied three saves.

Santa Ynez 4, Morro Bay 1

Maddy Davey scored early in the second half to give Morro Bay (7-10-4, 2-4-3 LPL) a 1-0 lead. 

Madelynn Martinez had 17 saves.
