Prep Roundup: Paso Robles downs San Luis Obispo in boys basketball

Jaylon Davis and Quinn Parker both scored eight points to lead the Paso Robles High boys basketball team to a 44-28 win over San Luis Obispo on Wednesday. 

The Bearcats got off to a quick start, outscoring the Tigers 15-6 in the first quarter. 

Anthony Spencer added seven points and led Paso Robles (10-6, 2-2 PAC 7) with eight rebounds. Jason Germaine also scored seven points.

Chase Braunn scored a team-high 11 points for San Luis Obispo.  

Templeton 50, Morro Bay 35

Will Mehring led the |Eagles to their first league win with 20 points, 11 rebounds and seven steals. 

Matt Jardini also had 11 points for Templeton (4-10, 1-2 Los Padres League). 

Solomon Ruddell had nine points and 11 blocked shots for Morro Bay (1-17, 0-5 LPL). 


Arroyo Grande 44, Atascadero 35

Ashlyn Herlihy had 19 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocks to go along with Alaina Hogeboom’s six points and nine rebounds to lead Arroyo Grande. 

The Eagles (7-10 2-2 PAC 7) and Greyhounds (12-5, 2-1) were tied at the end of the first quarter, but Arroyo Grande led by 13 heading into the fourth.

San Luis Obispo 37, Paso Robles 23

Biba Kirschner had a game-high 16 points for San Luis Obispo (9-5, 1-2 PAC 7).

Teammate Jessica Judge had seven points, five rebounds, four steals and two blocks. 

Natalie Barahona scored a team-high 11 points for Paso Robles (1-16, 0-3 PAC 7).  


San Luis Obispo 4, Paso Robles 0

Travis Caldwell-Young scored two goals in the first half, and assisted Nico Czerlinsky’s goal in the second to lead the Tigers. 

Ty Cooper also scored for San Luis Obispo (11-2-2, 3-0 PAC 7), and assisted Caldwell-Young’s second goal. 

Keeper Cameron Wright had three saves.

Arroyo Grande 6, Atascadero 1

Josh Wilkins and Juan Jazo both scored two goals for the Eagles. 

Danny Montero had two saves for Arroyo Grande (8-4-2, 3-1).  


San Luis Obispo 4, Paso Robles 0

Sydney Tamaki scored twice to lead the Tigers to the win.

Sierra Nunes and Lexi Johnson also scored for San Luis Obispo (9-2-2, 3-0 PAC 7), and keeper Lily McCann recorded one save. 

Goalie Natalya Marcove had 23 saves for Paso Robles (10-6, 1-3 PAC 7). 

Arroyo Grande 0, Atascadero 0, tie

Emily Johnson had 11 saves for the Greyhounds (9-5-1, 0-2-1 PAC 7), and Sarah Doughty had three saves for the Eagles (8-4-3, 2-0-2) in a double-overtime draw.


Paso Robles 16, Santa Maria 3

Nine different players scored for the Bearcats, led by Cameron Magnuson’s four goals.

Laileha Vermy and Lauren Reed had three goals, and Kelsey Lewis had four saves for Paso Robles (6-9, 2-2 PAC 7).
