Prep Roundup: Mission Prep basketball teams win easily

Quinton Adlesh hit six 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 22 points as Mission Prep’s boys basketball team rolled to a 65-41 home win over Bishop Diego on Saturday night.

The Royals (12-4) led by 28 at halftime.


Mission Prep 55, Bishop Diego 24

I’Raya Smith had 13 points, Tess Boehm added 12 points, and Noelle Laird scored 10 to lead the Royals past the host Cardinals.


Mission Prep 8, Villanova Prep 3

Marcel Grangien set the tone for the match, scoring in the first five minutes for Mission Prep (2-5-3).

Mission Prep’s Peter Bertelson and David Miller both scored twice, with one coming in each half. The Royals’ other scorers were Jack Mooney, Ryan Van Til, and Steve Sarmiento.


Morro Bay CIT Tournament

Atascadero’s Carson Block finished second in the 195-pound division.

Morro Bay’s Chris Maez took second at 182 pounds, and teammate Trajan Beecham was third at 152.


Arroyo Grande Tournament

Arroyo Grande finished third and had defender Kate Empey and goalkeeper Alana Benson earn all-tournament honors.

Atascadero won four of its five games and had three wins on the second day. Kylie Ferree was the leading scorer on the second day for the Greyhounds (8-5) with nine goals in addition to Emily Ferree’s eight goals.

San Luis Obispo had two wins, both coming on the second day for an overall record of 2-3. Julia Donath had seven goals in the Tigers’ (5-6) last three games to go along with 

Anna Mullen’s 31 saves.
