The Templeton High boys soccer team went 2-0 on the final day of the Garces Holiday Soccer Festival on Saturday to finish fifth in the Gold B Bracket.
The Eagles (4-6) beat Mammoth Lake 5-0 in the fifth-place match. Matt Mosher scored twice, and Matt Jangaard and Andrew Heim also scored. The fifth goal was an own goal. Jose Garcia assisted one of Mosher’s goals.
Yusuke Yokota and Justin Peterson split time in goal, each making three saves.
Earlier in the day, Templeton defeated Bishop Union 3-2 thanks to a game-winning goal by Garcia. Garcia scored twice, and Austin Alarcon also scored. Jangaard had two assists, and Jeffrey Hammond had one.

San Luis Obispo also avenged a first-day loss to win both its matches Saturday in the boys Premier A Bracket.
The Tigers (7-2-2) shut out Frontier, 3-0, on goals by Peter Delkeskamp, Lukas Holocher and Nico Czerlinsky. Mo Morales, Nick D’Arci and Holocher picked up assists. Cameron Wright and Kelby Jecker split time in goal, and Wright recorded two saves.
San Luis Obispo then defeated Mira Monte 4-2 on penalty kicks after the teams ended regulation tied 1-1. Mira Monte opened the scoring in the second half on a penalty kick before Brian Finger tied the score with an unassisted goal with 20 minutes to play.
Czerlinsky, Dane Lemons, Willy Kirschner and Travis Caldwell-Young scored in penalties. Wright made four saves in the game.
Atascadero split a pair of matches, falling 5-0 to Ridgecrest before a 1-0 victory over Morro Bay.
Justin Boyd scored on a first-half assist from Blaine Aguiar for Atascadero (5-4-1), and David Hernandez posted a four-save shutout.
Arroyo Grande at South Bay Classic
The Eagles split a pair of matches, beating host Torrance 1-0 before a 4-0 loss to Mira Costa.
Hofanna Cassidy scored on an assist from Juan Jazo for Arroyo Grande (4-3-2) in the first match, and Danny Montero posted a three-save shutout.
Atascadero High trounced Wasco 7-0 in the girls Gold A Bracket of the Garces Holiday Soccer Festival.
Maia Mumford and Candace Johnson both scored twice, and Cass Craker, Niquie Mack and Clare Corbin also scored. Sara Ceay and Haley Ruggles split time in goal, each recording one save.
The Greyhounds (6-2) then lost 1-0 to Tulare Union on a goal in the first half. Emily Johnson made seven saves in goal for Atascadero.
Morro Bay went 2-0 on the day, topping South Bakersfield 5-0 before a 3-2 overtime win over Templeton in the Gold Bracket consolation final.
Emma Hotaling scored twice, and Chloe Lindsey, Maddy Davey and Sadie Robbins added one goal each for Morro Bay (4-3-2) against South Bakersfield. Hotaling, Davey and Elsa Ruiz had one assist each for the Pirates, and Madelynn Martinez recorded a three-save shutout.
Morro Bay’s Allison Madeline scored the golden goal in overtime against Templeton. Hotaling and Davey also scored for the Pirates, and Emily Taylor notched an assist.
Templeton’s goals came from Miriam Robles on an Annie Reyes assist and on a Courtney Elterman free kick.
Templeton beat Mira Monte 8-0 earlier in the day, with Elterman scoring three goals, Robles two, McKenzie Wilson two and Reyes one. Sammy Schmidt posted a four-save shutout for the Eagles.
Coast Union split a pair of matches, topping Farmersville 4-1 before a 9-3 loss to Porterville to take second place in the Silver Bracket.
Coast Union’s Cristina Plasencia had two goals and an assist against Farmersville. Remy Corbet tallied a goal and assist, and Lindy Ortiz added a goal for the Broncos. Coast Union goalkeeper Kaelani Rivera made 10 saves.
Plasencia scored two goals, and Paulina Torres added a goal for the Broncos (2-5-0) against Porterville. Corbet had an assist.
Atascadero 61, Righetti 51
Joe Johnson scored 15 points as the Greyhounds (7-2) downed the Warriors in the third-place game in the Elite Division at the Mission Prep Christmas Classic.
Kevin Woodard had 14 points, eight rebounds and four blocks for Atascadero, and Robbie Berwick added 11 points and seven assists.
Arroyo Grande 44, Pacifica 39
Olivia Galindo scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Eagles to their first win at the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions.
Arroyo Grande (5-8) led Pacifica 21-18 at halftime before outscoring Pacifica 20-11 in the third quarter.
The Eagles went 8 of 13 from the free-throw line while Pacifica failed to make a foul shot in five attempts.
Atascadero at Channel Islands Duals
The Greyhounds shined despite not having a full lineup, winning six dual meets as a team in the round-robin event.
Atascadero’s Cruz Mendoza (106 pounds) went 9-0 with five pins, Jake Perry (132) was 6-2, Kyler Torres (145) went 5-0, Seth Burchfield and Nick Ducasse went a combined 10-0 with six pins at 160, Ryan Lombardi (170) went 10-0 with four pins, C.J. Cooper (182) was 9-0 with seven pins and Karson Block (195) went 10-0 with four pins.
Porterville won the team title.
