Prep Roundup: Atascadero wraps up second place in PAC 7 girls volleyball

The Atascadero High girls volleyball team swept Pioneer Valley 25-12, 25-21, 25-19 on Tuesday night to wrap up second place in the PAC 7 behind a strong performance from Kendall Featherstone, who had 15 kills and 13 digs. 

Chandler Haskell had six kills for the Greyhounds (18-11, 9-3), and Sabrina Degnan added 15 digs. Brooke Harbottle had 27 assists in the final regular-season match for the Greyhounds.

St. Joseph 3, Paso Robles 1

The Knights topped the Bearcats 25-17, 25-13, 13-25, 25-23. 

Morgan Lawson led Paso Robles (1-11 PAC 7) with 12 kills and added four aces and six digs. 

Chloe Kerns added 26 assists and five digs, Maddi Chace had nine kills and three aces, and Abi Venturini had five kills.   

Righetti 3, San Luis Obispo 0

The Warriors swept the Tigers 16-25, 22-25, 18-25. 

Molly Maguire and Anna Pedersen led the way for San Luis Obispo (17-10, 7-5 PAC 7) in the regular-season finale with seven kills each.

Santa Ynez 3, Templeton 2

The Eagles lost their regular-season finale to the Pirates 25-21, 13-25, 28-30, 25-18, 16-14 as Santa Ynez capped a perfect Los Padre League season at 12-0.

It was the second time the Pirates have defeated Templeton (14-3, 9-3) in five sets  this season. Templeton had a 14-11 lead in the fifth set.

Mari Stewart had 17 kills, six aces and eight digs. and Autumn Russell had 19 kills and two aces to lead the Eagles. Julie Cates had six kills, Cece Mazzarotto had 25 assists, and Josi Kelly had 23 assists, 10 digs and two aces for Templeton, which will be the LPL’s No. 2 seed in the upcoming CIF-Southern Section playoffs.

Nipomo 3, Cabrillo 1

Taylor Nevitt had 10 kills and 17 dig as the Titans won 25-14, 25-16, 24-26, 25-16 in their regular-season finale.

Megan Penaflor had 24 assists and two kills, and Sam Baker and Gwen Menane each had eight kills for Nipomo (11-10, 9-3 LPL). Mercedes Rodriguez had four aces and eight digs, Madison Elliott had seven kills, and Marisa Rodriguez had 15 digs.

Morro Bay 3, Santa Maria 0

Sierra Emrick led the Pirates with eight kills in their 25-14, 25-13, 25-14 sweep of the Saints. 

Dani Donaldson had 21 assists and seven digs for Morro Bay (8-8, 6-6 LPL), and Kassie McClory tallied six kills and 10 digs. 

Amaya Toke and Sybella Paredes each had 11 digs and four aces for the Pirates. 

Coastal Christian 3, North County Christian 1

The Conquerors beat the Crusaders 25-10, 25-13, 12-25, 25-21 to become Coast Valley League champions for the third year in a row. 

Roni Garrison led the Conquerors (19-1, 11-1) with six aces, four kills and 30 digs, and Bethany Young had four blocks, four aces, 12 kills and seven digs. 

Whitney Davis added five aces for Coastal Christian, and Isabelle Unger tallied two kills and 21 digs. 

Aliyah Morrison led the Crusaders (14-10, 9-3 CVL) with 14 kills and seven aces, Gabrielle Morrison had 21 assists, and Janelle Honeycutt tallied eight digs. 

Coast Union 3, Cuyama Valley 0

Cristina Plasencia had 15 digs and two kills, as the Broncos swept the Bears 25-12, 25-23, 25-19.

Sage Radecki had 14 digs and two kills for the Broncos.


Upland 11, Paso Robles 7

Paso Robles won six of nine singles set, but it was not enough as the Highlanders beat the visiting Bearcats in the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 wild-card playoff match. 

Maddie Berry, Katie Evenson and Lindsey Horst all lost to Upland’s No. 1 singles player but won their remaining two sets as the Bearcats (10-10) concluded their season.

Upland won eight of the nine doubles sets.


Cabrillo 13, Nipomo 6

The Titans lost in the preliminary round of the LPL tournament in Lompoc.
