Prep Baseball: Cano leads Nipomo by Paso Robles

Robby Cano gave up one run on four hits and struck out six over six innings to lead the Nipomo High baseball team to an 8-2 victory over visiting Paso Robles on Tuesday.

The Titans (1-2) scored six runs in the fifth inning to back Cano (1-1).

Matt Albright and Tommy Saenz had two RBI apiece for Nipomo. 

Austin Goularte pitched five innings in the loss for the Bearcats (1-1).

Bailey Gaither was 2 for 3 with a run scored for Paso Robles.

Rudy Binkele scored the other Bearcats run, and Lazoch Ford added a triple for Paso Robles.

San Luis Obispo 8, Lompoc 5

The Tigers rallied from a 5-3 deficit after the fifth inning for their first win, scoring four runs in the sixth inning to pull away from the Braves in Lompoc.

Nick Hill was 3 for 5 with two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base, and Garrett Giovannelli and R.J. Hassey each had RBI doubles for San Luis Obispo (1-2).

Sinjin Todd gave up one run on three hits in four innings in the win for the Tigers. Giovannelli gave up three hits over two shutout innings for the save.

Dominic Fountain was 2 for 5 with a double and three RBI, and Joey Benadiba was 1 for 3 with two RBI for the Tigers.

Atascadero 25, Santa Maria 7

Kelton Torrez hit a three-run home run in the second inning as well as a two-run double in the fourth as the Greyhounds cruised to the road win.

Brian Kirkpatrick earned his first win of the season for Atascadero.

Sam Neely had an RBI double, and Tyler Moore had a double and two RBI for the Greyhounds.

Morro Bay 3, Arroyo Grande 2

Rajan Singh had an RBI single in the sixth inning to give the Pirates the lead for good.

Trailing 2-0 entering the sixth inning, Connor McQuaid-Pishione started the Morro Bay rally with a two-run double.

Alex Rodriguez (1-0) struck out two in the sixth for the win. 

Zack Brown was 3 for 3 with a run scored for the Eagles (1-1). 

Templeton 10, Mission Prep 6

Tyrus Yamagata was 3 for 5 with a double and two RBI to lead the Eagles.

Andy Garretson and Justin Syracuse had two RBI each for Templeton (3-0). 

Anthony Bosshardt had four strikeouts in four innings for the Royals (2-1).

George Hindmarsh was 2 for 4 with one RBI, and Joey Donner was 2 for 3 for Mission Prep.
