Nipomo 1, Camarillo 0, 2 OT

Jonathan Gomez scored the only goal in the 96th minute off an assist from Ben Jimenez for the Titans in the first round of the Division 3 CIF-Southern Section playoffs.

The Titans (13-9-4) didn’t have a shot on goal during regulation, but goalie Johann Ayala saved Nipomo’s season by making 15 saves.

In overtime, the tide turned, as Camarillo did not register a shot on goal while Nipomo had three.

Off a throw-in, the ball went to Jimenez who dropped the ball back to Gomez. Gomez buried it to send Nipomo to face either  Palmdale or La Serna in the next round.

Oxnard 4, Morro Bay 0

Morro Bay (14-9-3), two years removed from a 1-16 season, fell in the first round of playoffs after a win in Tuesday’s wild-card round.

Oscar Loeza had seven goal saves for the Pirates, and Jeremy Nielson had five saves.
