Atascadero High boys soccer team wins two games at Cats and Hounds Tournament

Atascadero (3-1) earned a pair of 2-0 wins Friday over Nipomo and Orcutt in the Cats and Hounds Tournament.

Bryan Kirkpatrick had both goals against Nipomo. The first goal against Orcutt was scored by Ramon Gonzales with an assist from David Ramirez and the second was scored by Raul Lopez. Goalie David Hernandez had 14 saves for the Greyhounds.

San Luis Obispo (2-1-1) beat the Conquistadores 1-1 (4-3 PKs) in their first game.

Alex Maier scored the only goal for San Luis Obispo, assisted by Peter Delkeskamp, and goalie Michael Lambert had three saves in penalty kicks to earn a win for the Tigers.

In the second game, San Luis Obispo fell 3-0 to Division 1 No. 2 Ventura and will play in the consolation game today.

Two goals by Alex Tseegai in the first half, both assisted by Raul Munoz, earned Arroyo Grande a 2-1 victory against Morro Bay in the first round.

Jackson Chavez scored off an assist from Daniel Abiatti for the Pirates.

Morro Bay’s Jeremy Neilson had 11 saves in goal.

The Eagles beat Dos Pueblos 5-4 in penalty kicks after a 0-0 tie when goalkeeper Aaron Friedman saved the last kick to give Arroyo Grande the victory. The Eagles (2-1-1) will play Pioneer Valley in the semifinals today.

No further information was provided by Arroyo Grande.

Morro Bay (2-1) then shut out Mission Prep 6-0 with four goals and one assist scored by Jackson Chavez.

Holt Alden and Matthew Medina scored one goal a piece, and Daniel Adbiati had one assist for Morro Bay.
