San Luis Obispo football team falls in opening round of playoffs

Canyon High defeated San Luis Obispo 42-9 on Friday in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Northern Division playoffs.

The Tigers struggled after losing star quarterback Garrett Giovannelli to a knee injury in last week’s game, falling in the first round of the Northern 

Division playoffs. 

Thomas Orradre step-ped in at quarterback for San Luis Obispo (6-5), completing 3 of 5 passes, all of them to Parker Lauritzen, for 27 yards. 

Sawyer Scott ran for 100 yards on 12 carries, and Nate Greenelsh had 85 yards on nine carries and one touchdown for the Tigers.

On defense for San Luis Obispo, Jack Ferguson had two sacks and Cole Foubert had one.
