Prep Roundup: Paso Robles dominates singles to beat Atascadero in girls tennis

Maria Petiy won 6-1, 7-5, 6-0 as Paso Robles High (5-0, 3-0 PAC 7) won all but one singles set in a 13-5 PAC 7 win over Atascadero in girls tennis on Thursday.

Riley Caruana won 6-2, 6-1, 6-2, and Lindsey Horst won 6-1, 1-6, 6-0.

Arroyo Grande 18, Pioneer Valley 0

Alex Mero won 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 as the Eagles (5-1, 3-0 PAC 7) shut out the Panthers.

Hannah Angle won 6-4, 6-0, 6-0 and the doubles team of Joanna Phung and Angelica Gagliano won 6-1, 6-0, 6-1 for Arroyo Grande.

San Luis Obispo 17, Mission Prep 1

The doubles team of Darla Berkefeld and Courtney Gallagher swept 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 to lead the Tigers (3-3, 2-0 PAC 7) past the Royals.

Templeton 10, Nipomo 8

The Eagles swept all of the singles matches to edge the Titans.

Lauren Shin won 6-1, 6-2, 6-2, Jennifer Hulfarchor won 6-1, 6-3, 6-1 and Ashley Barns won 6-1, 6-4, 2-6 for Templeton.

In doubles, Nipomo’s teams of Kelly Springford and Gianna Abatti and Bekah Archambeault and Nicole Johnson swept their three matches.

Lompoc 14, Morro Bay 4

Sierra Wilcox won two of her three singles sets for the Pirates (1-4, 1-2) in their loss to the Braves.

GIRLS GOLF

Arroyo Grande Tournament

Arroyo Grande shot a 224, defeating Righetti by six strokes to take home the team championship at Dairy Creek Golf Course. Desiree Gillaspy shot a 1-over 36 to medal for St. Joseph.

Megan Donegan shot a personal-best 42 to lead the Eagles.

San Luis Obispo finished third at 235. Neha Sikand shot a 41 for the Tigers.

Paso Robles (282) finished sixth and Atascadero (308) finished seventh.

Michaela Howard shot a 48 to lead the Bearcats and Miranda Roetker, with a 50, had the low score for the Greyhounds.

Nipomo, Morro Bay at Lompoc Tournament

Jenny Andreas of Santa Ynez shot a 47 to medal on the par-36 front nine at La Parisma Golf Course.

The Titans shot a 268 to tie Cabrillo for the team championship.

Christine Delabey shot a 52 for Nipomo. Morro Bay shot a 382 and finished fifth in the tournament.

BOYS WATER POLO

Paso Robles 15, Nipomo 1

The Bearcats (3-4, 0-1 PAC 7) defeated the visiting Titans behind 11 saves from Paso Robles goalie Ben Nagengast.

Ten Bearcats scored at least one goal, including Morgan Moore with three, and Mason Keller, William Ford and Kohl Coffey with two each.

San Luis Obispo 9, Cabrillo 8

Chase Anderson and Nick Bea had three goals each to lead the Tigers (5-3) to the narrow victory.
