Prep Girls Volleyball: Nipomo sweeps Mission Prep

The Nipomo High girls volleyball team battled back against Mission Prep on Thursday night to finish off the sweep 25-16, 25-18, 25-23.

The Titans (3-0) who have not lost a set this season, trailed 10-3 in the third set but rallied behind Paige Way-mire’s game-high 13 kills. Taylor Nevitt had five kills and five aces to go with two blocks for Nipomo.

Cristina Ozzimo led Nipomo with 17 assists to go with her three digs, and Sarah Stahl added 11 digs for the Titans.

Jessa Culver had a game-high 24 digs in a losing effort for the Royals (1-3). Natalie Brescia added three aces and 13 assists.

Atascadero 3, Lompoc 0

The Greyhounds (3-0) continued their hot streak to begin the season by sweeping Lompoc 25-16, 25-18, 25-14.

Sophia Guerrier led Atascadero with 14 kills and six digs. Sabrina Degnan and Sage Kelley had 15 and 12 assists respectively. Maren Cracknell added six kills.

Frontier 3, Arroyo Grande 0

The Eagles (3-1) fell 25-12, 25-19, 25-18 in a nonleague match at home.

Millisa Morrow had 17 kills, Alyssa Koenig had 10 kills and Alaina Hogeboom had 37 assists for Arroyo Grande.

San Luis Obispo 3, Orcutt Academy 0

The Tigers (3-0) swept the Spartans 25-8, 25-6, 25-9 in their final match before they host a 33-team tournament this weekend.

Ariel Becker had six kills, and Maggie Eppright had 25 assists and four aces for San Luis Obispo.

Cabrillo 3, Paso Robles 2

The Bearcats (2-1) won the first two games, but the Conquistadores rallied for a 20-25, 24-26, 25-20, 15-13 win in Paso Robles.

Molly Donovan had 17 kills, and Morgan Lawson had seven kills for the Bearcats.

Templeton 3, St. Joseph 1

Autumn Russell had a triple-double in leading the Eagles (3-0) over the Knights 25-13, 24-26, 25-17, 25-20. Russell had 10 kills, 17 digs, and 20 assists in addition to three aces. Lindsey Wyatt had a game-high 30 digs.

Heather Fields, Carly Roth, and Sydney Roth all had double-doubles for Templeton. Fields had 17 kills, 14 digs and six aces. Carly had 10 kills, 10 digs, and four blocks. Sydney netted 23 assists and 15 digs.
