Templeton outlasts Carpinteria 49-42 in football season opener

Alex Elterman was 21-for-31 passing for 289 yards and three touchdowns to lead Templeton High's football team to a 49-42 road win over Carpinteria on Friday night.

With the score tied at 34 entering the fourth quarter, Templeton scored two rushing touchdowns within the first minute of the quarter for a 49-34 lead.

Tobey Isbell had five catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns, and Tyler Murphee had four catches for 107 yards and a touchdown for the Eagles.

Elterman led Templeton with 95 yards rushing on seven carries.
