The Mission Prep girls basketball team defeated visiting Yosemite High 67-40 on Saturday afternoon behind a pair of double-doubles from Kaylee Williams and Bri Harvey and a stingy first-half defense.
Harvey had 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Kaylee Williams scored 14 points to go with 11 rebounds for the Royals (21-1). Jenna Dunbar added 15 points and five assists for Mission Prep.
The Royals outscored the Badgers 38-9 in the first half, 15-1 in the first quarter.
“It was nice to get going early,” Mission Prep coach John Krossa said. “We started out slow (Friday) night against San Luis Obispo so it was nice to see the starters get out there and get it done early.
Morgan Liebscher had seven points, and Connor Storlie added six for the Royals. Every Mission Prep player scored.
Sierra Dominici scored 15 points to lead Yosemite (11-10).
GIRLS WATER POLO
San Luis Obispo closed out the tournament with a 2-3 record and a 12th-place overall finish.
After splitting their two games Friday, the Tigers (15-10) defeated Moorpark 7-5 before losing to Malibu 10-9 in overtime Saturday.
Their 2-2 record was enough to advance them into the final 12 teams and a shot at a tournament championship.
However, they lost to Calabasas 6-5 and were eliminated from tournament contention.
Elizabeth Waddell had a team-high 10 goals in Saturday’s games, and Kacie Gin added seven.
Zoe Berkowitz was in goal for San Luis Obispo for all three games and averaged six saves per game.
