After a 34-18 halftime advantage, the Royals maintained control of the game. Zach Allmon, who signed to play at Cal Poly next season, was the other Mission Prep player to score in double figures, as he finished with 11 points.

“I thought we had a good start to the season,” Mission Prep coach Terrance Harris said. “There’s certainly are improvements we can make, but the guys had a lot of energy and played well.”

For Morro Bay, Edward Griley recorded a game-high 19 points, Marcus Borovich had 13 points and Bryce Owens finished with two 3-pointers.

“I thought both teams played hard,” Pirates coach Dave Yamate said. “It was a close game at the half. I thought it was a hard-fought game.”
