Coastal Christian High defeated Maricopa on Wednesday night, 25-10, 25-8, 25-14, to clinch the Coast Valley League’s No. 1 seed in the upcoming CIF-Southern Section Division 5-A girls volleyball playoffs.
The Conquerors (14-2, 11-1 CVL) were led in kills by Leslie Henry (14), in digs by Koral Wright (22) and in assists by JoAnn Lindstaedt (26).
Despite finishing with an even league record with Coast Union, Coastal Christian’s victory over the Broncos on Tuesday served as the tiebreaker.

In their regular-season finale, the Broncos (13-5, 11-1 CVL) defeated Shandon in straight sets, 25-18, 25-17, 25-11.
Sophie Flemion led Coast Union with 28 assists, while adding seven kills and five aces. Nicky Ortiz served up a team-high seven aces, and Karla Sota delivered 10 kills.
Coast Union will enter the playoffs as the No. 2 seed, and Shandon earned the No. 3 spot.
North County Christian 3, Orcutt Academy 1
The Crusaders (7-11, 4-8 CVL) closed out their season with a 25-21, 25-13, 25-22, 25-22 victory.
North County Christian’s Brianna Feld registered a team-high 12 kills, while Cheyenne Ricks led the team in assists (10), aces (6) and digs (15).
