Morro Bay High grad Matt Hansen finished tied for 21st Wednesday at The Prestige at PGA West held at Greg Norman Course in La Quinta.
Hansen shot a final-round, 3-under 69, propelled by six birdies, a three-shot improvement over his second-round score. He finished with a 212 total.
Cuesta men's water polo team rolls to easy win
Fifteen different players scored for the Cuesta College men’s water polo team in a 20-6 Western State Conference win over visiting Santa Monica College.

Luke Walton led the Cougars (11-8, 2-0), ranked fifth in the state, with four goals.
Former Paso Robles High standout Spencer Silva scored twice in the win, and his former Bearcats teammate Austin McCall added one goal.
Eric Marsh and Luka Vukomanovic of Arroyo Grande High scored one goal apiece, and Dragan Dincic of San Luis Obispo High tacked on one more.
Cuesta women's water polo team crushes Santa Monica
The Cuesta College women’s water polo team routed Santa Monica 14-4.
Alex O’Connor scored four goals for the Cougars, and Erin Hasenkamp added three.
Randi Krueger made four saves for Cuesta (14-8, 2-0 WSC), which had five other players also score.
Cuesta volleyball team falls to Santa Barbara
The Cuesta College volleyball team lost 3-1 to 25th-ranked Santa Barbara.
Despite taking the first set 25-17, the Cougars fell in the next three, 25-21, 25-20, 25-18.
“We served well, we passed well, we play to our strengths, but sometimes we are outgunned,” Cuesta coach Roche Nystrom said. “We can still beat these teams, but we cannot have any lulls.”
Tess Gilkey paced Cuesta (6-5, 2-1) with 14 digs, and San Luis Obispo High alumna Kristin Urias added nine.
Former Coast Union High star Ashlan Cate made 14 digs in the loss.
