Paso's Cline to run for San Francisco State

Paso Robles High track and cross country star Maddy Cline has signed to compete at San Francisco State.

On May 5, the graduating senior won the 1,600-meter title at the PAC 7 finals with a time of 5 minutes, 2.94 seconds that broke school and meet records in the event.

Gators coach Tom Lyons said in a statement released by San Francisco State that Cline’s 5:02.94, in addition to a few other times posted by fellow recruits, “are indications that each of these women should be competitive in our conference fairly quickly.” Lyons added that Cline should “help push our returners and should blend in well.”

Cline was also an all-league first-team soccer player for the Bearcats.
