Greyhounds win golf tournament in Santa Ynez

Atascadero High’s Randy Armas earned medalist honors with an even-par 72 on Monday, leading the Greyhounds boys golf team to a first-place finish at the Santa Ynez Pirate Invitational.

Atascadero shot 224 as a team, beating Righetti by eight strokes.

Casey West carded 75, and Austin Jensen shot 77 for the Greyhounds.

Arroyo Grande finished third with a 235, led by Mitch Martin and Rik Mersai. Each carded a 77.

Nipomo shot 255 as a team and were led by Steve Canales, who shot 76.

Pioneer Valley 451, Paso Robles 505

Austin Elliot shot a 97 for the Bearcats.

Pioneer Valley’s Steven Martinez and Cameron Cena shared medalist honors with 84s.

BOYS TENNISSan Luis Obispo 13, Righetti 5

Coco Angulo and Shahrukh Syed each swept their singles sets for the Tigers.

The doubles team of Adrian Angulo and Mason Hansen also swept for San Luis Obispo (9-5, 8-2 PAC 7).
