College Roundup: Dome earns Big West tennis honor

Former Arroyo Grande High boys tennis standout Andre Dome, now a sophomore for the Cal Poly men’s team, was named the Big West Conference Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Dome posted No. 1 singles and doubles wins in all three of the Mustangs’ wins this past week, including a 5-2 victory over UNLV.

Cuesta women's basketball team downs Hancock

Anika Bauermeister had 23 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Cuesta College women’s basketball team to an 88-83 win over Allan Hancock College.

Rachael Warner had 20 points and seven rebounds for the Cougars (5-18, 3-7 Western State Conference), and former Paso Robles High standout Kati Sheldon added 19 points and eight rebounds in the win.

Cuesta men's basketball team falls to Hancock

Ali Langford had 31 points and 13 rebounds to carry Allan Hancock to a 108-90 men’s basketball win at Cuesta.

Former Lompoc High star Jordan O’Byrne added 24 points for the Bulldogs (12-13, 7-3 WSC).

Righetti High grad Nick Sauer had 18 points and seven rebounds for Cuesta, both team highs. Artur Kochetkov also had 18 points for the Cougars (11-16, 2-8).
