Two wrestlers from local schools won individual championships Saturday at Morro Bay’s Sam Boyd Invitational.
Individually, Morro Bay’s Dolin Mininni took first at 135 pounds, and Atascadero’s Elijah Jackson won at 160.
Atascadero was the highest-finishing local team. The Greyhounds took second place with 206 points, falling short of champion Lenmoore’s 218-point effort.
Atascadero had eight wrestlers place in the tournament. Michael Clemmensen placed second at 112 pounds, Jorden Gottfried placed third at 119, Randy Armas placed fourth at 125, Abe Halterman placed fifth at 130, Garret Rose placed eighth at 140 pounds, Dylan Reid placed seventh at 152 pounds and Matt Ducasse placed seventh at 189 pounds.

Morro Bay finished ninth overall and second in the small-school pool — for schools with an enrollment of 1,000 students or less.The Pirates also had Kent Beecham place third at 145, and Dominic Woods finish fourth at 160.
Paso Robles at MidCal Classic Tournament
The Bearcats finished in fourth place at the 72-team tournament in Gilroy.
Paso Robles had six wrestlers place while earning 185.5 points in the tournament. Zach Holes placed fourth at 103 pounds for the Bearcats, Robby Standley placed seventh at 112, Ryan Miller placed seventh at 125, Kevan Garcia placed second at 135, Brady Zubia placed seventh at 140 and Cesar Delgado placed fourth at 171.
Selma won the tournament, with Gilroy finishing second.
Coast Union 4, Liberty 0
Four Broncos (11-1) scored in the team’s shutout win.
Luis DeAlba, Victor Casas, Oscar Catalan and Emmyany Godinez all scored for Coast Union, which allowed only two shots on goal.
