Mission Prep’s girls basketball team downed Bullard 50-40 on Saturday at the Mission Prep Showdown.
It was a tale of two halves for the Royals (12-4), but they were able to string together a strong enough first half to hold on against Bullard (3-9) of Fresno. Mission Prep led 19-6 after one quarter and 34-14 at halftime.
Jenna Dunbar led Mission Prep with 18 points and seven rebounds. Bri Harvey scored 17 points, and Kaylee Williams had seven rebounds.

The Royals (10-7) got out to a big early lead and cruised.
Connor Woolpert and Andy Rowley both scored 16 points for Mission Prep.
Fountain Valley Invitational
Atascadero, which split its team between two tournaments, brought home an eighth-place finish from the 90-team tournament.
Individually for the Greyhounds, Cullen Joy (135) finished seventh, Stephen Trockman (171) placed sixth, Elijah Jackson (160) took fourth and Michael Clemmenson (103) finished second.
Santa Ynez Invitational
Atascadeo had two individual champions to pace the three county schools at the meet.
Garrett Rose (140 pounds) and Matt Duccasse (189) were the champions for the Greyhounds.
Placing for Nipomo were Brett Kimball (heavyweight, fourth), Dylan Hulsizer (135, fifth), Eddie Bousley (112, sixth), Ricky Torres (112, seventh), in his first varsity action, Jake Evans (147, eighth) and Jared Dorado (191, eighth).
For San Luis Obispo, Bryce McGhie (125) placed sixth, and Nathan Lichti (140) placed seventh, each finishing the tournament with a 4-2 record.
