A new local prep football all-star game has been announced.
The first annual Central Coast All-Star Football Classic will be held at 7 p.m. June 4 at Pioneer Valley High in Santa Maria, pitting a San Luis Obispo County all-star team against a Northern Santa Barbara County counterpart.
Rosters for the game, which will be made up of graduating seniors only, are yet to be announced.
Coaching staffs will be comprised of the 14 schools from the PAC 7 and Los Padres leagues.
All of the proceeds from the game will go to benefit local high school football programs.
Mission Prep 69, Coast Union 24
Andy Rowley scored 19 points, Tyler Baty scored 13 and Art Lane scored 11 in the Royals’ win Thursday night.
The Royals (9-7) took a 44-10 halftime lead and cruised from there.
They held Coast Union to 14 points in the second half, with just two of those points coming in the fourth quarter.
Connor Cunningham scored a team-high eight points for Coast Union (8-7).
Mission Prep 61, Coast Union 36
Mission Prep used high-scoring performances from Bri Harvey and Jenna Dunbar to get past Coast Union.
The two combined for 33 points for Mission Prep (12-4), with Harvey scoring a team-high 18 and Dunbar 15.
For Coast Union, Ashley Lorenz scored a team-leading 12 points, and Nicky Ortiz added 10. Coast Union hosts Cuyama Valley tonight.
Morro Bay 4, Santa Maria 0
With a flurry of three goals in six minutes, Morro Bay (4-8-2, 2-3-0 Los Padres League) was able to grab a win.
Haley Ramos scored her first varsity goal in the 25th minute of the game, Allison Walters scored one in the 28th, and then Macey Burgeson scored in the 31st.
Morro Bay also added another goal in the 57th by Olivia Watt.
Coast Union 5, Laguna Blanca 0
Coast Union won its third straight game.
Victor Casas led the Broncos with three goals and one assist. Oscar Catalan added two goals for the Broncos (8-1).
Lompoc 3, Templeton 1
No additional information was provided.
GIRLS WATER POLO
Paso Robles 10, St. Joseph 8
Paso Robles had four players score. Andria Posmoga had a team-high four goals, Rebecca Tobey had three, Stephanie Smith had two, and Tess Weber had one.
Marti-Rae Grois had 10 saves in goal for the Bearcats.
San Luis Obispo 10, Righetti 7
Eva Bakker, Kennedy Peters and Elizabeth Waddell all had three goals apiece in the Tigers’ win.
San Luis Obispo (10-7, 4-1 PAC-7) had two other players score, as well.
Kacie Gin scored two goals, and Elizabeth Culpepper had one for San Luis Obispo.
Defensively, Zoe Berkowitz had six saves for the Tigers.
