The San Luis Obispo High and Arroyo Grande boys volleyball teams will each be hosting first-round playoff games when the CIF-Southern Section playoffs kick off Tuesday.
The PAC 7 champion Tigers (21-2) are set to host Saugus (10-7), an at-large team from the Foothill League in a Division 2 game. Also in Division 2, the PAC 7 runner-up Eagles (12-4) will host Golden Valley (12-14), the No. 3 team from the Foothill League.
On opposite sides of the bracket, San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande would not meet or run into another local team until the championship game. They are the only San Luis Obispo County boys volleyball teams to be awarded Southern Section playoff spots when the bracket was announced Sunday.
Should they win, the Tigers will either play Rio Mesa (16-6), the No. 1 team from the Pacific View League, or travel to Brentwood, the Olympic League’s third-place team.
In the second round, the Eagles would likely face Laguna Beach (17-7), the Orange Coast League champion and the No. 2 overall seed in the bracket. Laguna Beach hosts at-large team Arcadia (15-14) in the first round.
