Area Roundup: Paso Robles wins discus relay

Matt Sepulveda, Robbie Burbank and Bo Bonnheim won the discus throw for Paso Robles High’s boys track team Saturday with a combined distance of 407 feet, 10 inches at the Rio Mesa Spartans Meet.

The Bearcats topped 19 other teams to get the win after Sepulveda led the team with a team-best 147-10 toss.

The Bearcats boys distance relay team finished third out of 18 teams in the 4x800 relay with a time of 8:16 and was also third in the distance medley in 11:11.

The girls distance relay finished third in 13:16.

Basketball camp at Cuesta

West Coast Xtreme Basketball Academy will hold clinics for boys and girls ranging from fourth grade to high school starting Tuesday.

The clinics will be conducted by Cuesta College men’s basketball assistant Ron Barba with several area high school players and coaches participating as guest clinicians.

Clinics begin Tuesday evenings from 6-7:30 at the old gym on the Cuesta campus. The cost is $15 per clinic or $50 per month.Participants are asked to bring a basketball and bottled water.
