Prep Roundup: San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande soccer players honored

A total of eight girls soccer players from San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande highs were named to the CIF-Southern Section all-Division 3 team Monday.

San Luis Obispo, which went 23-4-2 this past season, reaching the divisional semifinals, placed five players on the list.

The Tigers’ Kiele Argente and Shannon Fontes each made the first team, with Vivien Devaney making the second and Brady Candaele and Alessa Moscoso each making the third team.

Arroyo Grande, which enjoyed a 22-5 campaign culminating in a divisional quarterfinals appearance, placed Kate Reinhardt on the first team.

The Eagles’ Cheyenne Rodriguez was selected to the second team, while teammate Jenna Harshbarger earned third-team honors.

Arroyo Grande’s boys soccer team was also well represented, with three players chosen to the all-Division 5 team. Morgan Wack earned first-team distinction, with teammates Jairo Diaz and Christian Garcia picking up second-team accolades. The Eagles boys went 19-8-2 during a divisional quarterfinals run.


San Luis Obispo 399, Nipomo 457

The Tigers’ Adam Zakaria carded a 75 at the par-71 Monarch Dunes course.

Tyler Anderson and Joe Zakaria added a 77 and an 80, respectively.

For the Titans (3-2), Rory Doll had seven birdies and carded a 72 to collect medalist honors for the fifth time this season.

Righetti 375, Atascadero 412

The Warriors shot a school record at the par-72 Rancho Maria Golf Club in Orcutt.

Austin Kaiser led the Greyhounds (1-1) with a 76, while teammate Casey West carded an 81. Dalton Womack added an 82 for Atascadero.

Bret Walberg and Reilly McMahon tied for medalist status for Righetti, shooting 73s. Cody Morse had a hole in one for the Warriors.

Morro Bay 209, Templeton 235

Doug Chesbro earned medalist status by carding a nine-hole even-par 35 for the Pirates (1-0) at the Morro Bay Golf Course.

Austin Peters shot a 41, while Luke Holzschuh added a 43 for the Pirates.

Tanner Westbrook shot a team-best 37 for the Eagles.
