The Paso Robles High girls basketball team matched its win total from last season Wednesday night, routing Cabrillo 53-29.
The Bearcats (4-3), off to their best start since 2004-05, had four players hit
3-pointers in Chelsea Kuhns, Chelsea Merrill, Kati Sheldon and Chrissy Davis.
Sheldon finished with a game-high 11 points. Davis added nine, while Amani White had eight points and 10 rebounds. No one scored more than seven for Cabrillo (1-8).
“We’ve been consistent and played really solid defense in every game,” Paso Robles coach Mike Gray said of the Bearcats’ improvement. “That’s kept us in games.”
The San Luis Obispo High girls soccer team defeated San Marcos 2-0.
Brady Candaele struck first for the Tigers (5-0-1) in the first half on a pass from Alessa Moscoso. In the second half, Moscoso tacked on the insurance goal on an assist from Kiele Argente.
