The Atascadero High boys water polo team defeated Paso Robles 9-8 on Tuesday in Paso Robles.
The teams played despite a driving rainstorm and wind gusts as high as 40 mph.
“Passes weren’t as accurate, and the rain and wind caused our game clock to go out,” Paso Robles coach Duane McRoy said. “It made it difficult for both (coaches) to coach properly and threw off our sub patterns.”
Levi Adams scored a game-high five goals for Atascadero, including the game-winner with 33 seconds remaining after Paso Robles’ Ata Bulgurlu tied the match with just over a minute remaining.
