Weckenmann's 37 not enough to lift Tigers girls golfers over Eagles

Alessia Weckenmann shot a 37 to earn medalist honors for the San Luis Obispo High girls golf team Monday, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Tigers from falling to Arroyo Grande, 246-292, at Cypress Ridge Golf Course.

Weckenmann’s 1-over performance included an eagle on hole No. 6 and a birdie on No. 3. No other Tigers shot lower than 58, though.

Sydney Johnson paced the Eagles with a 46, followed by Stina Hansson’s 47. Arroyo Grande (5-2, 3-0 PAC 7), which recorded its lowest team score at Cypress Ridge this year, dropped eight stokes off its previous best at the venue.

Atascadero 272, Pioneer Valley 285Atascadero sophomore Danyele Rampone medaled, shooting a 52 at Chalk Mountain Golf Course. Joelle Clay added a 53 for the Greyhounds.

Righetti 216, Paso Robles 290Righetti’s Mareon Smit and Makayla Mier shared the top score for the Warriors, each posting a 40 at Rancho Maria Golf Course.

Ashley Levanduski led the Bearcats with a 51, followed by Kim Bergin’s 52.

BOYS WATER POLOAtascadero 14, Nipomo 3The host Greyhounds tallied seven goals in the second quarter on the way to the win. Levi Adams had a team-best five goals, while seven teammates also scored.

Marc Baker led the Titans (2-11, 0-4 PAC 7) with two goals, and Kirk Wilenius made seven saves in defeat.
