Arroyo Grande girls golf team just misses school record

The Arroyo Grande High girls golf team was one stroke off its all-time low score Monday in defeating Pioneer Valley 221-276 in a PAC 7 match at Blacklake Golf Course.

The Eagles’ Stina Hansson and Ashley Roese each carded a 42 to earn medalist honors, while Karissa Mattimoe (43), Sydney Johnson (47) and Brooke Bennett (47) were also in the 40s.

Alex Anderson rounded out the Arroyo Grande scoring by shooting a 55. Sierra Martinez paced the Panthers with a 51.

The Eagles, whose season best was 32 stokes better than the previous high-water mark this year, set the program’s historical standard with a team aggregate of 220 in 2008.

Paso Robles 288, Nipomo 291Tori Sepulveda shot a 44 through mildly windy conditions at Hunter Ranch Golf Course, earning medalist honors for the Bearcats, who improved to 3-0 in PAC 7 play.

Ashley Levanduski added a 48 for Paso Robles. Sara Clark led the Titans by carding a 51.

Righetti 210, San Luis Obispo 257Makayla Mier shot a blistering 36 to lead the Warriors at Dairy Creek Golf Course. Mareon Smit added a 40 in the win.

Alessia Weckenmann carded a 40 for the Tigers, who got 47 apiece from Katelyn Guy and Gillian Johnson but fell to 1-3 in dual play.

Atascadero 267, San Marcos 267The teams tied at Chalk Mountain Golf Course and San Marcos didn’t have a sixth player whose scores are usually used as a tiebreaker.

San Marcos’ Alexandria Peretiako earned medalist honors with a 44. Corie Bruno, meanwhile, shot a 49 for the Greyhounds, and Kyleigh Jensen added a 53.

Danielle Brescia led Mission Prep (6-1) with 13 kills and four aces, while Kerstin Sanders chipped in five kills and six aces.
