The Atascadero High girls volleyball team defeated San Luis Obispo 3-1 on Tuesday in each team’s PAC 7 opener.
Atascadero won the first game 25-20, and the Tigers won the second game 25-19. Atascadero won the next two 25-20, 25-20.
Kiah Featherstone had 10 kills, three aces and two blocks for the Greyhounds (5-1), and teammate Brianna Norlock added seven kills, five aces and six digs.
Kristin Urias had 12 kills and seven aces for the Tigers, and Jessica Chellsen had eight kills. Alex Attala added seven more kills and four aces for the Tigers, and Brianna Mallory had 14 digs.

Paso Robles 3, Pioneer Valley 0
Paso Robles swept Pioneer Valley 25-11, 25-17, 25-12. Tess Rountree had five kills for the Bearcats (3-0), and Karlee Anderson added three more kills.
St. Joseph 3, Morro Bay 1
Morro Bay lost 25-16, 25-22, 19-25, 25-20.
Ciara Ramos had 13 kills for the Pirates, and Kylie Gacad had 32 assists. Monica Santiago added 25 digs for the Pirates.
Templeton 3, Santa Maria 0
Kiersten Humphries led the Eagles (3-2, 1-0 Los Padres League) with nine kills and four aces. Natalie Madson added seven kills for Templeton.
Santa Ynez 3, Coast Union 0
Ashlyn Silva had 20 digs for Coast Union (0-4) in a 25-12, 25-16, 25-16 loss.
Shandon 3, North County Christian 1
Cheyenne Ricks led North County Christian (2-3) with four kills and 18 assists, but the Crusaders couldn’t rally against the Outlaws (2-0). Ricks’ performance was followed closely by teammates Brianna Feld and Jessica Lindquist, each compiling eight kills.
Coastal Christian vs. Mission Prep
Coastal Christian forfeited.
San Luis Obispo 13, Paso Robles 5
Abigail Will, Tori Troesch and Kristy Kayatta swept their nine singles matches for the Tigers (4-0, 2-0 PAC 7).
“Our singles players took care of business,” Tigers coach Gary Etheridge said. “Our team played outstandingly.”
The Bearcats attempted a comeback, winning five of nine doubles matches, but couldn’t close the gap. Lili Voisinat and Christy Hack led the Tigers in doubles, posting three wins of their own, including a tiebreaker over Chelsea Merrill and Lauren Hynes.
Arroyo Grande 16, Nipomo 2
Arroyo Grande swept all nine singles matches.
Ginny Jenkins led the Eagles (3-2, 2-0 PAC 7), sweeping her three matches with no substitutions. Jenny Cardenas and Tessa Underwood posted two doubles victories for Nipomo.
Templeton 13, Santa Maria 5
Templeton’s Erin Roberts and Katie Anselmi both swept all three of their singles sets.
Danielle Grassi won both of her matches with scores of 6-4, 6-0 to help the Eagles (2-0), as well. Templeton’s No.1 doubles team, Elena Torres and Summar Seismi, almost had a sweep, but lost a tiebreaker to Mitzy Estevez and Mae Rama 9-7.
Mission Prep 9, Coast Union 0
The Royals (5-2) swept six singles matches and three doubles matches.
Ally Kersthold, Jenna Dunbar and Sophie Seid all won their matches 8-0, and teammates Rachel Ronca and Aparna Bhat dropped just a game each in singles play.
BOYS WATER POLO
San Luis Obispo 10, Paso Robles 7
San Luis Obispo’s Dragan Dincic and Kyle McAlahney put up three goals each for the Tigers. Jeff Gomez added two more scores for the Tigers.
Fletcher Shultz and Ata Bulgurlu put the Bearcats on the scoreboard with two goals each. Eli Schoenhauer, Marco Gut and Austin McCall all had one goal each for the Bearcats.
Tommy Caffrey had 12 saves for San Luis Obispo.
Atascadero 6, Santa Ynez 5
Atascadero goalie Patrick Neil made eights saves, and Levi Adams and Clarke Andros scored twice to keep the Greyhounds (3-0) undefeated. Atascadero also got goals from Austin Miller and Chad Ponek.
