Mission Prep running back Brayden Corona got his fourth 100-yard rushing of the season and the Royals got a 19-14 win over Templeton to open up Northern League play on Friday night.
Conona scored what turned out to be the winning touchdown and finished the game with 134 yards on 24 carries after rushing for just 24 yards in the first half.
"It wasn't pretty," said Mission Prep coach Chad Henry, "but we got it done. Defensively we played really well."
Mission Prep held the Templeton rushing attack to 80 yards on 23 carries.

Royals quarterback Bryce Fledderman completed over 60 percent of his passes for the first time this season and didn't throw an interception. He ended the game 20 of 32 passing for 245 yards and two touchdowns.
Mission Prep (5-2, 1-0) is on the road at Fillmore, and Templeton (4-3) heads to Morro Bay next Friday.
