Prep volleyball roundup: Mission Prep beats Righetti in straight sets

Mission College Prep won in straight sets over Righetti, 26-24, 25-14, 25-17 on Tuesday night. Madi Boncich had 12 kills and Eleri Perryman notched 35 assists in the victory for the Royals (17-3). Jennifer Laird had a team-high 19 digs and eight kills and Jena Kelly had 10 digs and three aces. Bella Casola added 15 digs, and Noelle Laird had eight kills for Mission Prep (17-3, 5-1 PAC 8), who face San Luis Obispo on Thursday. 

Arroyo Grande 3, Atascadero 0

Arroyo Grande kept its undefeated PAC 8 record intact with a straight-set win over Atascadero in Arroyo Grande. Emily Sonny and Ashlyn Herlihy had 18 kills each in the 25-18, 25-15, 25-23 win. The Eagles trailed 17-9 in the final set before coming back to close out the match. Juju Fuller added two aces and 17 digs for Arroyo Grande (12-1, 6-0 PAC 8) in its sixth-straight victory. Arroyo Grande travels to Santa Maria on Thursday to take on St. Joseph. 

Jessie Featherstone had nine kills for the Greyhounds, five digs and two blocks and Kaylie Griffin had five blocks and four kills. Kayla Herzig added 14 digs and two aces, and Brooke Harbottle had 16 assists for Atascadero (8-10, 1-5 PAC 8).

Paso Robles 3, Pioneer Valley 0

Aundrea Mendoza had four aces and two digs and the Bearcats won 25-16, 25-8, 25-11. Kiara Gable and Kalyn Armstrong each had eight kills and two blocks for Paso Robles. The Bearcats travel to Righetti on Thursday.

San Luis Obispo 3, St. Joseph 1

Marissa Brancart distributed 32 assists and had nine digs en route to a 23-18, 23-25, 25-18, 25-22 victory for the Tigers (14-9, 5-1 PAC 8). Holland Boege had 15 kills and 10 digs and CeCe Devaney added 10 digs and seven kills for San Luis Obispo.

Templeton 3, Cabrillo 0

The Eagles were led by the six kills of Lauren Ralston in the 25-12, 25-9, 25-10 win in Lompoc. Templeton's Emily Burns had nine kills and Abby Vierra had eight aces to move the team's record to 12-6 overall. 

Templeton continues to hold its lead atop the Los Padres League with a 6-0 record. The team plays again on the road Thursday against Orcutt Academy. 

Morro Bay 3, Orcutt Academy 1

Lexi Beaman led the Pirates with 12 kills in the 25-23, 20-25, 25-15, 25-20 win. Lelila Kennedy added 10 kills. 

Morro Bay (7-3, 5-1 LPL) travels to Santa Ynez on Thursday to battle the other Pirates for second place.
