The San Luis Obispo High football team seems to have caught its stride, winning its second game in a row with a 27-7 win over Cabrillo on Friday night in Lompoc.
Quarterback Omeed Djassemi scored on a 16-yard run and Javon Montgomery scored on a 1-yard run as the Tigers (2-4) opened a 13-0 lead after the first quarter.
Djassemi threw a 29-yard scoring pass to Delvon Jack in the third quarter. Anthony Ramos returned an interception 24 yards for a score and a 27-0 lead in the fourth quarter for the Tigers.
“This was the best defensive performance we’ve had so far this year,” head coach Pat Johnston said. “We had two interceptions, returning one of them for a touchdown. When you score on the defensive side of the football, it always brings the energy level up and those were some momentum changing plays. I'm really proud of our defense for stepping up.”
