Cabrillo High defeated Templeton 31-28 on Friday night on a touchdown with less than a minute to play in an emotional game in Templeton.
Signs and T-shirts bearing No. 32 filled the stadium to honor Isaac Lindsey, the Templeton player who suffered a head injury last Friday and has spent the past week in intensive care.
On the field, Lindsey was missed by his teammates in more ways than one. Cabrillo was able to run the ball all game on the Eagles (4-1), and the offense had just 17 yards total in the second half.
Stat of the Night: Cabrillo's Cody Perry had 137 yards rushing and two touchdowns and helped the Conquistadors control the ball in the second half. Cabrillo had 172 of their 392 yards rushing in the second half.

Play of the Game: After a scoreless third quarter, Templeton was able to stop Cabrillo on a fourth-and-1 on the goal line with 3:51 left to play. But on the Eagles next play, quarterback Jordan Bernal was sacked in the end zone for the safety. After a personal foul penalty gave Cabrillo good field position, they were able to drive to score on a 35-yard touchdown pass with 0:43 left. A two-point conversion gave Cabrillo the 31-28 lead.

Templeton had 11 penalties in the game, including a costly offensive pass interference call that wiped out a touchdown in the first quarter.
Templeton D: Although the Eagles couldn't stop the run, the defense make a couple huge plays that kept Templeton in the game. Templeton had two interceptions on Cabrillo's backup quarterback J.C. Miller, including Logan Ross's 50-yard interception return for a touchdown in the first quarter. Isaiah Harrold also took a Cabrillo fumble 99 yards for a touchdown for the only Templeton score of the second half.
What's Next: The Templeton players, who showed emotion in the postgame huddle, will have to regroup in the face of tragedy after suffering their first loss of the season. They will travel to face Santa Ynez next Friday.
