The Nipomo High boys water polo team earned a 11-10 victory over Paso Robles on Tuesday, led by Jacob Billinger, who scored nine of the Titans' 11 goals — three in the fourth quarter.
Colby Webb added two goals, and goalie Luke Willenius had 12 saves Luke Sparks and Nolan Santala had two steals apiece for the Titans (2-0), who Friday and Saturday will play in the Pioneer Valley Tournament.
Mitchell Iunker and Wyatt Spencer each had three goals for the Bearcats (1-2). Garrett Wilson added two goals, and Iver Hansen had 10 saves in the loss. Paso Robles will face Santa Ynez on Thursday and play in the Conejo Tournament this weekend.
Santa Ynez 12, Atascadero 8
Santa Ynez was led by two four-goal scorers, Grand Davidson and Nolan Morrison, in the win over Atascadero.
Yuta Nogi scored three goals for the Greyhounds, who failed to score in the fourth quarter. The Pirates scored three goals in the fourth to pull away for the victory.
Atascadero goalie James Fisher had eight saves.
The Greyhounds (1-1) travel to Thousand Oaks on Friday to play in a two-day tournament.
Morro Bay 11, Pioneer Valley 7
Filippo Mairitzi had six goals, and both Lucas Jackovich and Jack Malzone had a pair of goals for the Pirates.
Goalie Austin Pask had four saves in Morro Bay’s (1-2) first win of the early season.
