Prep football wrap-up: Nipomo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay all notch first wins

Paso Robles 27, Clovis North 7

Paso Robles senior kicker Cade England set a new school record with a 54-yard field goal in a win over Clovis North. The win was the first of the season for Paso Robles (1-4).

Nipomo 37, Cabrillo 21

Nipomo junior running back Luis Diego-Riquelme ran for 218 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Titans (1-4) to their first win of the season. Titans sophomore quarterback Brayden Groshart was 9-of-16 passing for 89 yards and a touchdown to senior Gage Wynn.

Sophomore Hunter Barnhart came in to play quarterback and tossed a 50-yard touchdown pass to Daede Murphy.

Morro Bay 28, McFarland 12

Morro Bay (1-4) scored 21 first-half points against McFarland and held on for its first win of the season.

Santa Ynez 41, Templeton 7

Senior quarterback Dustin Gregg tossed six touchdowns and threw for 341 yards for Santa Ynez (4-0) in a win over Templeton (2-3). Pirates senior wide receiver Gabe Prendergast had seven catches for 144 yards and a touchdown.

Arroyo Grande 38, St. Joseph 20

Arroyo Grande junior running back James Gilmet rushed for three touchdowns and 216 yards to give the Eagles (3-2) their third win in a row.

Madera 34, Atascadero 14

Atascadero running back Arik Machado rushed for two touchdowns as the Greyhounds (1-4) lost their fourth game in a row.

Mission Prep junior Brayden Farr had two late interceptions and a touchdown to lead the Royals (3-0) to the win. Junior quarterback Chase Jones also had a touchdown for Mission Prep.
