Kryn Masutani did a little bit of everything for the Cuesta softball team Thursday.
In the Cougars’ doubleheader against L.A. Pierce, Masutani went 7 for 8 with two doubles, two home runs, nine RBI, seven runs and two stolen bases to help Cuesta to 11-3 and 21-3 wins over the Raiders.
She also broke three Cuesta records and tied two. She now holds the record for RBI in a season (61) and career (71) and the career record for doubles (22). She tied with Laura Haines’ 2012 single-season stolen base record (31) and Christina Grimm’s 2005 home run record (11).
In its first game against Pierce, Cuesta (18-18, 10-6 Western State Conference) never trailed, scoring six runs in the top of the first. Christina Corsaletti had two RBI, and Jasmine Singh was 2 for 3 with two RBI and two runs.

The Cougars scored 10 runs through two innings in the second game before pilling on three more in the third and eight more in the fourth.
Singh again was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Corsaletti was 3 for 4 with two runs and an RBI, and Mackenzie Brewster was 3 for 3 with three runs and two RBI.
Cuesta wins fourth straight in baseball
After dropping three straight baseball games to end March, Cuesta has reeled off four straight wins, the latest being an 8-2 win over L.A. Pierce.
The Cougars (14-15, 8-5 WSC) scored two runs in the first and two in the third to race out to a 4-0 lead. They extended the lead to 8-1 in the top of the fifth inning.
Zack Domingues went 3 for 5 with an RBI in the win, while Marco Murillo went 2 for 3.
Lucas Martin went the distance on the mound for the Cougars, giving up one earned run with two walks.
