Cal Poly signs junior college lineman
College of San Mateo defensive lineman Barrett Wangara has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football at Cal Poly.
Wangara helped the Bulldogs to an 8-3 record and the California state championship in November. He received first-team All-American California Football Association honors after recording 35 tackles, four tackles four loss and three sacks.
In 2010, Wangara had 23 tackles, and 1.5 tackles for loss as a freshman.
Prior to attending College of San Mateo, he attended Capuchino High in San Bruno, where he lettered in both football and track and field (discus and shot put).
